Workshops for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Youth Business Cameroon offers workshops on developing business ideas, starting a business, and improving the management of existing small businesses.

YBC Coaching and Mentoring Program

Youth Business Cameroon offers a service to match young entrepreneurs with experienced business experts to provide coaching and mentoring.

Global Entrepreneurship Week

Global Entrepreneurship Week is an initiative designed to inspire young people to embrace innovation, imagination and creativity: to think big, to turn their ideas into reality, to make their mark. Youth Business Cameroon organizes a variety of events throughout the week to promote the growth of entrepreneurial spirit and capacity among the youth of Cameroon.

StartUp Weekend

Startup Weekend Yaoundé is a chance for Cameroonians to come together and share their groundbreaking ideas and motivation to create change, and transform these ideas into tangible, functioning businesses.

StartUp Cup

StartUp Cup is a global network of locally driven business model competitions open to any type of business idea. It can be replicated in any community and is a proven model to create viable businesses, grow jobs, and enhance entrepreneurial ecosystems. The competitive process educates entrepreneurs to design a viable business model, develop customers, and accelerate their startup into the marketplace through a comprehensive judging, coaching, and mentoring process.

Past Activities

2006: Participation in the Youth Employment Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, and networking opportunities with partner organizations.

2007: Organization of the Youth Entrepreneurship Forum in Douala. Advocacyand outreach activities were oriented to partner organizations and ministries on youth entrepreneurship development and facilities in Cameroon.

2008:

Selected as host of Cameroon’s first Global Entrepreneurship Week, a worldwide celebration of entrepreneurship that engages and educates entrepreneurs on six continents. Youth Business Cameroon has hosted the event every year since.
Organized the Entrepreneurial Marathon Business Plan Competition in Douala during Global Entrepreneurship Week.
Selected as the International Labor Office (ILO) Yaoundé Strategic Partner for the Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB)/ Gérez Mieux Votre Entreprise (GERME) Programme in Cameroon.
Launched and introduced the SIYB/GERME Program in Cameroon with the support of ILO.
Coordinated the pool of the six Certified Trainers on SIYB/GERME Programme of ILO

2009 – 2011:

Launched the 2009 – 2011 Marathon Business Plan Competition in Cameroon, bringing together more than 10 universities across the country. At the end of the competitions, 10 successful winners received special awards during the celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week in Douala.
Launch of capacity-building program using GERME manuals and training tools to empower 200 potential entrepreneurs.
Publication of Youth Business Cameroon’s Youth Biz Mag, 2nd Edition.
